This post will be far from happy. Early this morning, around two a.m I noticed, because I was still awake, Twitter was blowing up with the devastating news that Glee star Cory Monteith had passed away.
I don't remember if I mentioned this in an early post or not but Glee is one of my favorite shows. My heart is literally broken. I've been part of the Glee fandom since the very first episode, I watched it when it first aired on May 19, 2009 and I have seen every episode since. My favorite episode and scene to date was the pilot episode and the very last scene where the original six Glee members performed Don't Stop Believin'.
Glee is the losers anthem. It's the show that brought so many people out of their shells and was one of the first TV shows to have openly homosexual characters on it. This show changed my life. I can't even fathom this show without Cory. I feel selfish worrying about what the show will do without him.
My heart goes out to Cory's entire family, both at home and in the Glee Cast. His death is hitting the fandom hard but I can't even imagine how his fellow cast members are feeling today. My deepest condolences to Lea Michele. There's been no information really released about his death or any statements from Lea. My heart breaks for not only myself but the entire Glee family.
Stay Strong Gleeks. We'll get through this together.
Lots of Love
Emily
